This is the right way

Directions to our hotel:  we want to help you to arrive at our beautiful village of Grainau as smoothly as possible.

Coming by car

From Munich:

Take the A 95 motorway from Munich to Garmisch-Partenkirchen, continuing along the B2 road in the same direction. Immediately after the Farchant Tunnel exit right towards Garmisch/Fernpass/Reutte.  Go through Garmisch then take the B23 towards Grainau/Eibsee/Zugspitze. After leaving Garmisch, take the first left turning signed for Grainau. Drive for 2-3km through Grainau, crossing over two railway lines.

Roughly 300m after the second crossing (on a sharp right-hand bend, with Restaurant Bosna on the right) you will find the driveway up to our hotel on the left.

Coming through Austria:

Take the A7 motorway to Fuessen, continue to wards Reutte, then stay on B179 towards Fernpass (toll-free). Take the exit from B179 for Ehrwald/Lermoos and drive through Lermoos towards Ehrwald/Garmisch.  Approaching the village of Ehrwald, turn left under the bridge and drive for roughly 18km towards Garmisch-Partenkirchen until you come to a road going right signposted for Grainau/Eibsee/Zugspitze. At Unterer Dorfplatz ( with a drugstore on the corner) turn left. Drive for roughly 3km through Grainau village to Oberer Dorfplatz.

Contiue for roughly 300m to a sharp right-hand bend.  Immediately after the bus stop there you will see the driveway leading up to our hotel.

Please note: The driveway is on Zugspitzstrasse, next to the bus shelter called “Postgasse” Satnavs will unfortunately direct you to Postgasse on Oberer Dorfplatz. There you will find only a narrow path leading to our hotel, no road!

Travelling by train

Take German Railways trains to the main station at Garmisch-Partenkirchen.

Please don’t take the train to the stations at OberGrainau or Untergrainau, as there are no taxis at these stations, only an hourly bus service.

1. Eibsee bus (EVG-Bus/Blaue Busse).

Take the Eibsee bus (EVG-Bus/Blaue Busse).  They depart hourly opposite the main railway station building.  The timetable can be seen on the internet at http://www.eibseebus.de/download/Ganzjahrplan_Bus.pdf

2. Nutzung der Bayerischen Zugspitzbahn

Using the Bayrische Zugspitzbahn. The station for the train which runs between Garmisch and the Zugspitze is next to the main railway station. Trains go hourly to Grainau; the timetable can be downloaded from the internet. Leave the train at Grainau and walk towards the churchand Oberer Dorfplatz. From the Dorfplatz square a smallpath (Postgasse) goes left directly to our hotel – 300m or a 5 minute walk.

 

3. Taxi

There is a taxi stand at the main rail station in Garmisch-Partenkirchen. The journey to our hotel in Grainau costs approximately 20 euros.
